In February of 2021, I set a personal goal to challenge myself to create notes for a daily text every day for 28 consecutive days. My primary motivation for this challenge was to establish a more consistent habit of reading my daily text and to deepen my relationship with Jehovah.

So, when I hosted my first challenge on Instagram – Daily Text Challenge, I was really excited to see how many of you awesome friends joined me worldwide! It was such a fun experience watching each other’s notes and staying connected this way, especially during these difficult times

I didn’t plan to do any challenge after I completed my last challenge. But to my surprise, many of you started asking me, “When will you do the next challenge?” Your response took me aback, and it made me wonder if I should continue hosting challenges.

Fast forward to February 2022, and I’m hosting the 4th challenge – My Favourite Scripture Challenge!

The ongoing pandemic situation has taken a toll on all of us, and I am no exception. To be honest, I have been feeling the effects of pandemic fatigue for quite some time now. However, amidst all this chaos and uncertainty, focusing on God’s word in a creative way became a powerful coping mechanism that has helped me deal with this situation more positively.

When I think about all of the challenges I hosted so far, they have provided a welcome distraction from the constant storm of negative news and allowed me to channel my energy toward something uplifting. I have come to appreciate not only the spiritual aspect of it but the therapeutic benefits of the creative process of it. Studying God’s Word through art has helped me process the uncertainty of our world and ease my stress levels, and I hope it will help you as well.

Make the best use of your time.

– Ephesians 5:16.

Are you ready for the challenge?

Over the next 21 days (Feb 14 – March 6), I encourage you to immerse yourself in the spiritual and creative aspects of this challenge. And why not invite a few friends to join you on this journey? It’s always more fun to have others to support and encourage us along the way.

Let’s make this an exciting and fulfilling experience together!

With the help of my newsletter subscribers, I created a list of 21 scriptures. You can now download this list at the end of this post.

Also, 21 corresponding printable scriptures are included in my Journaling Bundle.

Here are a few questions you may have.

What do I need to be prepared?
All you need is a notebook and a pen! Whether you prefer the classic method of jotting things down on paper or using your digital device, the choice is yours

If you’re feeling creative, try adding a splash of colour with some coloured pencils, washi tapes, or scrapbook paper.

What type of notebook do you suggest?
Why not take a look around your house and see if you have any unfinished notebooks lying around? It’s the perfect time to pick it up and finish it off!

Personally, I’m going to use a small square sketchbook and my Posca pens (my favourite medium recently).

If you want to have a dedicated notebook for your favourite scriptures, which you can fill out with additional bible verses after the challenge, check out my selection on my Redbubble store.

Do I need to post my notes on Instagram?
The decision is completely yours! If you want to share your notes with the world, go ahead and post them on your feed or stories. But if you prefer to keep them private, that’s absolutely fine, too.

I’ll be posting my notes for 21 days on my Instagram.

How do you find time to do it? Is it hard for me to juggle it around my schedule?
Finding the time to do so can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you have a busy schedule.

Most importantly, you should be realistic about your schedule and commitments and find a time of day that works best for you.

If you find that you still struggle to make time for creative study, maybe you could focus on reading the scripture and reflecting on its meaning.

Are we meant to find articles discussing the scriptures?
When it comes to writing down the scriptures, it’s always helpful to do some extra digging! I recommend checking out articles or research guides that discuss the scriptures, as they can provide some valuable insights. This will help you to better understand and meditate upon the scripture.

Friendly reminder. If you find it tough to stick to the challenge, don’t stress yourself out.

  1. Take a break and a deep breath, and remember, it’s not a competition.
  2. Make this challenge an enjoyable experience for yourself.
  3. If you ever fall behind, don’t worry and go easy on yourself; you can always catch up on the scriptures you missed and add them to your notebook at your own pace after we finish the challenge.

Enjoy the challenge!

Update. The challenge has ended. However, you can still download a list of the 21 scriptures below and challenge yourself, making it a part of your personal study. Have fun!
